Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi who recently recovered from Covid-19 said that she struggled between life and death. Minister Wanniarachchi tested positive for Covid-19 on January 23, and was later admitted to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) for treatment, where she spent several weeks undergoing treatment.

In an emotional interview, Minister Wanniarachchi recounted her near death experience, explaining how she had to seek the assistance of a ventilator to breathe. “I knew that I was struggling between life and death. I could see that my health was deteriorating and I was convinced that I wouldn’t make it until the next morning,” she said.

The Minister in an interview with a TV channel also said an infection which entered her bloodstream made her recovery more complicated.  Minister Wanniarachchi commended the frontline workers including medical staff at the IDH adding that she owes them her life. “I must say that they are divinity on earth. If not for them, you would have been at my funeral,” she said. The Minister said that the commitment of the medical staff as well as her own will to survive, led to her recovery from the deadly disease.

Seriously ......... 511 already has been rather not fortunate as you

She made a grave mistake: She didn't take the 2nd and 3rd shot of 'Dammi Pani' but luckily she threw some holy waters to the river saved her at the end of the day. If she wants to fully cured, she has to organise a 'Devil Dance' sooner than later.

Why you struggled you must select the one way.

    BuffaloaCitizen Wednesday, 10 March 2021 03:56 PM

If you had died, the country would not have lost absolutely anything. Actually it would have gained, because one more political buffaloa less living on public money. Those frontline workers have sinned to the whole country by allowing you to survive.

    Pawkaraya Wednesday, 10 March 2021 05:03 PM

Oh poor Sri Lankans, your sins are not paid yet.

Since you are very very close to MR, he might even offer you a better Ministerial Portfolio.

    Johan Wednesday, 10 March 2021 05:53 PM

You were not handling the ministry professionally That is the reason you had to struggle between life and death

    Rohana Wednesday, 10 March 2021 10:21 PM

P,V, Your own actions made you a big joker. Please follow the proper scientific factors when you take decisions in the future. Specially, young people are looking for a real change and your actions make it easy. I wish you good health and keep safe.

May be she doesn't understand its the life and death situation for most of citizens in this country trying to balance everyday life. Death, debt, breath and shit is what they'll have to put up with everyday.

    NIghtOwl Thursday, 11 March 2021 09:37 AM

At least let's hope the minister would embrace the recommendations of the science and medical community going forward instead of listening to pseudoscience.
