Hirunika Premachandra, who appeared in court, was ordered to be released on bail after her arrest warrant was revoked by the Colombo High Court today.
The Colombo High Court today issued an arrest warrant on Premachandra against her failure to appear in Courts for a case related to alleged abduction of a 26- year-old youth from Dematagoda in 2015.
The lawyer who appeared for Premachandra stated that her client, in spite of being a mother of a one and-a-half- month old infant, still present in the courts this morning.
However, the lawyer apologized to the court that his client was not being able to present on time and assured she will do so in the future.
Accordingly, the judge ordered the revocation of the warrant issued on behalf of her and ordered she be released on anticipatory bail. The judge also advised the respondent to appear before court in due course. (Yoshitha Perera)

Now it might be a bit difficult to get from place to place without the Police escort isn't it ? Can we have a single parliamentarian without a single black mark and a questionable character ?

Get the facts right. Is Hirunika's lawyer a 'she' as stated in line 5 of the news clip and seen by many on TV or is 'it' a 'he' that nobody saw as appearing in line 7.
