Govt. rejects claims on false propaganda

Issuing a statement the Department of Government Information today rejected fake rumours being spread that there were moves to dissolve Parliament.

Information Department Director-General Nalaka Kaluhewa said some groups were attempting to spread fake propaganda saying that the Government is trying to dissolve Parliament.

    Can you also 'reject false rumours' about a Sri Lankan MP being arrested in Singapore with foreign currency (exactly matching LKR 500 million). Until then , the dissolution news will remain true!

    The government need not worry. A 2/3 majority is needed to dissolve parliament while they do not have even a simple majority.
