False news on decisions: Prez says decisions will only be conveyed officially

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today commented on false news circulating on social media claiming to be statements and decisions made by him and said his decisions would only be communicated officially.

“There are many false news items being shared on social media, claiming to be statements and decisions by me. Kindly note that all decisions will only be communicated officially through the President’s office, President’s Media Division or my official social media channels,” the President tweeted.

    Make the ministers and government officials to comment only on the subject matters assigned to them. In the past, ministers give statements on matters that are not coming under their purview.
