Collective agreements signed between trade unions and employers to increase the daily wages of estate workers up to Rs. 730 from today, Ceylon Workers Congress Secretary MP Arumugam Thondaman said a short while ago.
The agreement was signed after a 17-month struggle.

To curtail the C.O.P. give the workers subsidy in limited Electricity, Flour,Kerosene and offer decent housing facilities. Also improve efficiency and increase the number of working days. Workers suffer and unions prosper at their cost.

Well, the Estate Workers will Prosper the day the Workers change the CWC represent them!!!?? Few other Unions making Headway, but will take more time!!??
