Two individuals from the Gampaha District have died two days after being vaccinated and the Epidemiology Unit is to investigate as to whether it could be attributed to the vaccine, Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said there is a particular procedure to find out whether it had any link to the vaccine.
“We are currently investigating to ascertain whether these deaths were due to the vaccination,” Dr. Herath said.
Divulapitiya police said a 57-year-old person who was administered with the vaccine two days ago, was pronounced dead today on admission to the District Hospital Divulapitiya.
The deceased was a resident of Wewagedara. He was admitted to the hospital due to a sudden illness.
The second death has also been reported from the Gampaha District and more information about him are yet to be received. (Sheain Fernandopulle and Pushpakumara Mallawarachchi)

Imaging if this happened with a local "paniya". People need to understand that medicine can't cure 100% of patients. Even if a local "paniya" can cure 50% of patients that is a win.

@abc Local paniya is unproven to even cure 1%, forget 50%. The vaccine on the other hand has been proven to work (through scientific trials) over 80%.

The Sri Lanka medical fraternity is clueless in this field of vaccine. I do not expect much from them. It is better they get expert advice and opinion from overseas or the vaccine manufacture.

abc, Why not cure yourself with a paniya instead of standing in queues for vaccine. Good luck

A complete history has to be recorded before being vaccinated such as medical history and allergy etc.....
