The Chief Medical Officer of the Piliyandala District Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19 following an antigen test.
According to the health authorities, the chief nurse, a laboratory assistant, a service administrator and two other employees at the hospital who were identified as close contacts of the medical officer were quarantined.
At present, PCR tests have been carried out on 20 people at the hospital, health officials said.
