The Cabinet had approved another five Light Rail Transits (LRTs) in the Western Region as a long-term measure to cater to the future transport demands, Cabinet Co-Spokesman Gayantha Karunathilake said.
Earlier the plan was to construct two LRTs.
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) had agreed to assist in the construction of two LRTs, he said
The proposal had been made by Megapolis and Western Development Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, he said. (Chaturanga Pradeep)

How many such projects have received cabinet approval so far? it seems none of them going to be executed.
