The administrative approval has been granted to conduct research on anti-Covid-19 herbal syrup introduced by Ayurvedic practitioner Dhammika Bandara, Director General of Health Services Dr Asela Gunawardena said.
The Ethical Committee of the Rajarata University granted ethical clearance to the syrup on December 30, 2020.
The Health DG told Daily Mirror that it was a normal procedure to grant the administrative approval once the ethical clearance is provided.
The research will be conducted by the Rajarata University in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
