33000 affected by floods

More than 33000 persons belonging to more than 26,000 families have been affected due to floods in Batticaloa, Trincomalee and several other districts in the island, the Disaster Management Center reported today.


Six hundred and fifty five families have been sheltered in six camps in Batticaloa which is providing relief supplies.
 

Meanwhile several sluice gates were opened in tanks located in Anuradhapura due to the prevailing heavy rain in the area, 09 Sluice gate were opened in the Rajanganaya tank and 02 Sluice gate were opened in Kalawewa. (Gandhya Senanayake)

    Future? Tom. we are experiencing the worse now. Entire world is effected by adverse weather due to so called global warming. But here we suffer not only from the weather or climatic condition. We are cant protect ourselves, we are that dumb and we keep praise the king.
