E-mail Print
Five people who were staying at the Kataragama Dutugemunu Pilgrims’ Rest were taken into custody by police on suspicion. Kataragama police carried out the raid on a tip off from the public.

Inquiries have revealed that they had been asked to lodge at the Pilgrims’ Rest by a racketeer in Udappuwa area until their turn came to leave for Australia. The suspects were between 23 and 54 years of age and residents from Udappuwa, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, and Negombo.

A police team has been deployed to arrest the kingpin of the racket.

Thease illegal acts are taking place very often now. IGP its your turn now, take appropriate action against such racketers and stop this nonesones. Otherwise it will be a black mark to SriLanka.

What economic advantages do they have in this country if they do not have connections to high and mighty? They will stop leaving Sri Lanka in hordes when this country truly becomes a Dharmishta society; - no white vans, no robberies, no rapes and child molestations, no political thuggery, no mismanagement of education, no discrimination against minorities, no tax waivers for political big wigs - job opportunities for all based on qualifications and no favors for politicians' supporters. (There's more that can be added to this list which makes people flee this country of ours...)
