The Football Federation of Sri Lanka took another initiative today, April 12, to donate a communication kit for the use of referees during the Super League 2021.
Sri Lanka’s first ever professional football league will kick-off on April 19 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
This equipment will support on-ground referees to communicate with each other easily while the game is on and to take clear decisions.
This facility was lacking in Sri Lanka up to now and referees have faced difficulties with communication in the past.
The official handing over of the equipment was done today by Namal Rajapakse, the Minister of Sports.
Equipment was received by A.G.C. Deshapriya, the Chairman Referees Committe, and FIFA Assistant Referee Buddika Dias in the presence of FFSL President Anura De Silva and FFSL Medical Committee Chairman Dr. Manil Fernando. FFSL also would bring down another four sets in due course for the benefit of local referees.
