Police find a kilo of Heroin on the Sinnappadu Beach

The Udappuwa Police said that a parcel containing nearly a kilo of Heroin was found in the Sinnappadu beach, believed to have drifted ashore.  

As tipped off by a fisherman of the area, this parcel very securely packed had been spotted on the 21st early morning, floating in the sea off Sinnappadu beach and washed ashore by the force of the waves. This was revealed when Anton Fernando a fisherman from Sinnappadu handed over this package to the police.  
Police who had removed the covering of the parcel had confirmed that it contained one kilo of Heroin of ‘Brown Sugar’ type. The package had been wrapped and concealed meticulously to avoid water seeping into it. The value of this quantity of Heroin has not been confirmed yet.  


The OIC of Sinnappaduwa Police, Inspector B.G.C.R. Gunathilleke and a team of police officers are continuing further investigations.
