A MOU was signed yesterday between the National Youth Services Council and Wijeya Newspapers Sri Lanka to create and activate a countrywide campaign pertaining to Cyber Bullying and to also develop and create digital content that will highlight issues faced by Youth in Sri Lanka.

It will also focus on creating digital content that will empower the youth of Sri Lanka. Cyberbullying and online harassment are among some of the most pressing threats facing young people today. The stigma and mental anguish they can cause can end bright young futures before they have even begun.

Wijeya Newspapers and the Ministry of Youth Affairs are working together to take the anti-cyber bullying campaign forward. A much needed initiative to create awareness, educate and work with legislators to create a safe space for impressionable young minds as they navigate life online.

Wijeya Newspapers and the Ministry of Sports yesterday signed an MOU to announce their first of its kind, collaborative initiative. This undertaking in innovation promises to bring sport tutorials to schools and children countrywide, through digital platforms.

Tutorials in all sports will be available to view, allowing children in even the remotest areas of the country to benefit from the expertise of coaches and professionals in their chosen sport. The accessibility of these interactive tutorials will encourage participation and further development in these areas creating a new generation of talented
Sri Lankan’s.
