Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa who met Canadian High Commissioner in Sri Lanka David McKinnon requested him to assist Sri Lanka to overcome the shortcomings in anti-COVID -19 system.
Mr. Premadasa informed the Canadian High Commissioner to help overcome the drug shortage and the lack of equipment in hospitals. "There is congestion in hospitals that treat COVID 19 patients. Therefore we request Canada to assist Sri Lanka to overcome the shortcomings," he was heard saying in the video clip released from the opposition Leader's office.
Mr. McKinnon informed Mr. Premadasa that Canada will share COVID 19 vaccines globally and will be happy to share them with Sri Lanka as well. " We have been watching how the world had reacted to the pandemic and had been watching Sri Lanka as well. Sri Lanka had done well in handling the pandemic" he said.
