100 Tamil girls join the Army

In a landmark event, nearly 100 Tamil girls will join the Sri Lanka Army on Saturday at a ceremony which is to be held at Bharathipuram in Kilinochchi.

They will be enlisted in the Army’s Volunteer Force and assigned to serve in the 6th Battalion of the Women's Corps.

After a course of military training they will be posted to the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts in the hope they will facilitate the ongoing military-civil cooperation activities in these areas.

At Saturday’s ceremony according to Hindu customs and traditions, the parents will formally handover their children to the Army.

The girls were recruited to the Army after an interview conducted in the North and East. (Supun Dias)

Is that concept alive in Srilanka. I thought we Sinhalese cremated this idea when Tamil language was made laughing stock in 1956 and made history by eradicating tamils in northeast 2 years ago.

These Tamil girls will be forced to marry Singhalese soldiers and their children will be given Singhalese names. This is a very cunning and slow type of cultural genocide against the Tamils of Sri Lanka. Very soon, there will be another armed conflict in Sri Lanka, initiated by the overseas Tamils and I hope that these Tamil girls will join us, with the training they got from the enemy army occupiers.

Raja, I am an overseas tamil, and all I can say to you is forget starting any war again. Forget sri lanka, its gone, there will not be any tamils left, infact I would advice all sri lankan orgin tamils change there names to singhelse, speak singhalese, then at least in 2 generations, no one will know who is who!!! ha hahahah
