It's not the talks that matter end of the day. You must have intelligence to drive the country to success, once appointed. It's only Hon Ranil W can fulfill the requirement.

True, that's why he needs to lead from the back and not from the front. He is too associated with failure, that people think of him as unsuitable. Make sajith the face of unp.

If Ranil had any decency he would have resigned his position long ago. Would be the best for the UNP if he did move to the US.

Please step down that's the only radical change UNP followers expect, you have not won single election with your own strength and hope not even in future. Access your own weekneses and give some one capable to do.

Radical or whatever changes should be honest and to bring the party back to the winning track and not to protect the positions. Many true UNPers have lost their faith on the leadership and the party.

UNP needs a leader who is capable of feeling the pulse of the nation. MR, Premadasa, Banda felt the mood of the masses. Mixing with Colombo's wine drinking cocktail circuit as Ranil does is nowhere enough. Take the challenge to the streets, villages or seek exile in wilderness.

A good leader knows his/her own weaknesses and looks beyond self. This country is in dire need of intelligence and rational thinking - but you sir are not the solution and how is change radical if you cannot critically examine yourself. The future of the country is hinged on how young intellectuals are entrusted to right the wrongs of previous generations. To think beyond petty prejudice, xenophobia and self-interest.

A new leader, and a new party that puts the country and masses first is what the nation needs. End favouritism, good governance, enforce law and order. A basic demand but is there hope?

Not only UNP all the partties in Sri Lanka need a radical change. Instead of the leaders deciding party policies, deciding the candidates to be contested even to a local authority, deciding who should be the mayor or chairman, party members of the respective areas should be given the authority to take these decisions.

Ranil will be a better leader than MR since he possess better admin skills. It will be good for the economy and we will have a balanced foreign policy not too deviated to China. The question how he is going to come to power due to his poor PR skills. The best option is to keep the party leadership to himself and put forward some one like Sajith to contest in the election campaigns. He should play the role what Sonia Gandhi plays in India.Don't forget he is one of the few gentlemanly politicians we are left with in the midst of rogues and thugs.
