No portable horns at match venues –SLC

E-mail Print
Sri Lanka Cricket has decided to ban spectators from bringing in 'Portable Horns' / ‘Hooters’ to match venues with immediate effect.

In a statement SLC stated that “Sri Lanka Cricket arrived at this decision to generally safeguard spectator comfort inside spectator areas of the stadium. This does not mean that the papare bands are banned. These are individual horns brought in by the spectators. We will be implementing this rule on Tuesday.”

The general public are warned that Security Personnel will search for the above items very strictly and will confiscate if detected.

So that means Nishantha is going to start a portable horns/hooters manufacturing company, get the exclusive rights to sell them at the grounds, and make a quick buck! I like your way of thinking, putha!

Probably you have not gone for a recent match. This particular horn is really irritating. We enjoy papare music so much. This is a good move.

This was suggested by Tony Greig. Why not SLC get advice from him to run SLC also. He will be a better adviser if SLC is going to implement his suggestions.

Misbehaving is rampant at all venues of play by young cricket lovers. It is hardly understood whether these youngsters are enjoying cricket at the performance of the players in the ground as they only drink, dance and make noisy music with painted faces.

excellent cricket is not a third grade carnival as most of the new venue-bound people think
its a respectable game with respectable folks watch
we dont see these nonsense in England and in down under
Papare bands are fine as long as they too not going out of hand with too many in too little space
hats off to Tony for pointing out to authrities
