PC assaulted

A Police Constable was seriously injured after being beaten with a bat when he was attempt to arrest a warranted suspect in Mirihana this morning following a call received through the 119 call centre.

Police sources said that the injured police constable was admitted to the Kalubowila hospital for treatment and the suspect was arrested and police are conducting further investigations. (ISA)

Hope police will not do the same to the assaulter. Hope they would respond with restraint and legality. Otherwise it would be very unprofessional.

Poor lad. That's what happens when police try to get "people friendly". It maybe a splendid concept for the Brits, but in here, the Indian style is the only one that could contain our people.

very rarely do u get two officers to check traffic offences. Most often they accuse u falsely
