there is no porpose in blaming these people for what they are doing. Make the country safe and condusive for every citizen to live peacefully and create economic development. Do citizens from the developed countries migrate illegally?

It is anybody's and everybody's dream to migrate. Let's be realistic. That's the Asian Culture.

Unfortunately these innocent gullible people fall prey to these human smuggling vultures.

The government should not allow these vultures to thrive on human misery.

This is an international human smuggling scam... This has been going on for ages.... creating income for terrorist organizations such as LTTE and others. The people do pay for the voyage and once they get asylum status they keep on paying for the network. This is what happens now in Canada, Australia, Switzerland etc. This is probably how many tamils have managed to settle themselves in those countries and finance terrorists and their network.

May be those people just want to go whale watching. What's wrong with that?

Please excuse our super intelligent politicians

They are just too busy building towers and art galleries, travelling around the globe, etc., and don't have the time to look into the reason why Sri Lankans are abandoning Sri Lanka enmasse.

Might as well make it legal to leave SL by boat, let Australia do what ever they want at that end!!!
