Book on Prabha released in Chennai

E-mail Print
A book on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam leader V Prabhakaran was today released Chennai by city-based historian S Muthiah.

'The Prabhakaran Saga - The Rise and Fall of an Eelam Warrior', authored by senior journalist S Murari, depicts how Prabhakaran built LTTE as an organisation through armed struggle, among other things.

The first copy of the book, published by Sage publications, was received by journalist Malan.

Muthiah said improving the economic status of the Lankan Tamils would bring about a positive change in the island.

Former Director of South and Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Madras V Suryanarayan said more than the economic status, a political solution needed to found to the Tamils' problem.

He said the Island government should be committed in implementing the recommendations
of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Committee (LRCC).

Journalists and academicians, who spoke, said the Island nation must take steps to rehabilitate the displaced Tamils.

Murari said the book was the result of the innumerable visits he made to the Island as journalist. (PTI)

As a way to gain some cheap publicity it seems everyone is an expert on how our internal issues have to be handled. These arm-chair pundits need to be told to mind their own business and keep their unwelcome comments to themselves.

No harm in reading a book on the world's most ruthless terrorist. We all should know what and why made him to be that, but how do we know if this book is not biased?

I cannot understand why the Tamil community giving such a place to a man who only brought distructions to his own people. A generation has been killed, misplaced and living in exile in foriegn countries like gypsies. They maybe having little money since they are in europe but what about the culture and their social life. I have met many Tamils abroad who longing to come back to SL. Some are really nostalgic.
