The investigation should not only confine to the assault case and the legality of this person being in Sri Lanka, but also should look at the weaknesses of the systems to enable aliens (if he is one) to get in to the country and also survive up until now.

About three years back, I heard that a number of foreigners were residing in Negombo on long term basis until they get the 'visas' to travel to other countries. They were suposed to be getting 'funded' by some organisation.

With the many latest developments, I wonder whether these people were residing in Sri Lanka legally in the first place and secondly, are their arrivals of any benefit to the country?.

We may end up in another mess very soon.

It is time to investigate if there are under cover Iranian agents living in Sri Lanka with some sinister motives. This is how LTTE carders also functioned sometimes back. It is better to be vigilant!
