Massive Heroin raid in luxury apartment

E-mail Print
In one of the biggest raids in recent history on heroin distribution, police arrested three women and two men at a luxurious distribution point in the 2000 Plaza housing complex, Dehiwala yesterday.

The Luxurious house is believed to be one of the main distribution points of drugs to the country and is believed to have been operated by fugitive 'Wele Suda', who is reportedly operating the business from overseas.

The raid was carried out at around 2 PM yesterday by a special team on a tip off received by the Police. The apartment situated on the tenth floor is considered to be a hub for packaging and distribution of heroin. Police arrested three females alleged to have been packing the Heroin for retail sales. Police have also arrested two men aged 26 and 32 during the raid together with a 37 year old driver who is said to have been one of the distributors.

A luxury car which is believed to have been used by the gang to distribute Heroin has also been taken into custody together with cash amounting to some eight million rupees during the operation.

Police Spokesman Ajith Rohana said the Police are conducting further investigations into the operations of the gang. He also said that the drug operation in the country now was sophisticated with the use of modern technology, luxurious vehicles and modern apartments as opposed to traditional modes of distribution.  (Daily Mirror Online)

Go through the chain any you can catch the exact importer/smuggler
But this will not go beyond this. Again police will catch a grass root level distributor

So what is going to happen now? The heroin will go missing and they will be back to business. This is just a hiccup. Unless the death sentence is brought for drug trafficking this scourge will never stop. If the president loves his country then he should start implementing it.

What are their marketing strategies, channels of distribution, agents and dealers, how do consumer behave ? police might need some marketing tactics to fully understand the business

Heroin is a class A drug and it destroys peoples lives. Long prison sentences for the convicted would be ideal. 25 years would be a good sentence. Users & addicts need to put in rehab & treated , not punished

why not the users be punished...? They do know the consequences and still end up doing it.. There was a 1st time for it . Had they chosen to not proceed, they wont be addicts.

For one's own mistake the society is NOT responsible....
