Jailed journalist J.S Tissainayagam who was granted a cash bail of Rs. 50, 000 by the Court yesterday on medical grounds will be free to leave the prisons tomorrow once he signs the bail bond for his release in Court, Prisons Commissioner General V. R. De Silva said.

Speaking to Daily Mirror online General De Silva said that lawyers representing the journalist; who was sentenced last year to 20 years rigorous imprisonment, had met him this afternoon and presented the court papers ordering the journalist's release.

J.S Tissainayagam was arrested in March 2008 by the Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) and was sentenced in August 2009 for arousing "communal feelings" by writing and publishing articles that criticized the government's treatment of Sri Lankan Tamil civilians affected by the war,and for raising money to fund the magazine in which the articles were published.

It's nothing but God , Almighty's mercy. Let's hope an era of violence free dawns after the 26th instant. The country is desperate to usher in with peace.
