The committee of experts appointed to study the MCC compact and make recommendations has decided to seek public opinion over the agreement, the Prime Minister’s Office said yesterday.
Accordingly, individuals and institutions will be given the opportunity to submit their opinion, information, evaluation and proposals on the agreement, its content or possible impacts to the committee.
The Prime Minister’s Office said ideas could be sent to the postal address -- Chairman, Committee to study the MCC agreement, Nelum Piyasa, Temple Trees, Colombo-3, or via email address mccreview@pmoffice.gov.lk before February 15.
If the committee concludes that further information and details were needed with regard to certain submissions, the PM’s Office said the committee would provide the opportunity to personnel and institutions to submit further information.
Therefore, individuals and institutions are requested to include their contact information including phone numbers, email and postal addresses in their submissions. The expert committee was appointed by the Cabinet on a proposal made by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
