The Oman Air WY 371 flight which was scheduled to land at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake was diverted to the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) last morning because of inclement weather, MRIA Airport Manager Upali Kalansuriya said.
He said the flight which arrived from Muscat was diverted because of the heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms in Katunayake this morning. The flight landed at the MRIA at 8.20 am
“Fifty eight passengers and crew members were on board. However, no one was allowed to disembark, from the plane. It returned to the BIA at 9.54 a.m after re-fuelling,” Mr. Kalansuriya said
