Bourse up; mediocre turnover

The Colombo Stock Exchange ended positively today however on a lackluster ground.
 
ASI gained by 12.86 points (+0.24%) to close at 5,477.67 while liquid MPI increased by 41.08 points (+ 0.87%) to end at 4,815.50. Market turnover stood at Rs.441.4mn.
 
PC Pharma Plc (Rs.68.2mn) recorded the top turnover for the day. In addition John Keells Holdings Plc (Rs.62.7mn) Environmental resources Plc (Rs.26.2mn) made noteworthy contributions to the daily turnover.
 
Furthermore all the heavy turnover counters displayed active level of trading during the day.
 
It was announced today that the IPO of Access Engineering Limited has been oversubscribed.
 
Foreign participation stood at 9.7% of the total market activity and at the end of the day foreign investors were the net buyers with a net foreign inflow of Rs.1mn.
