During a brief discussion with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa following the presentation of their credentials, the newly-appointed German and Swiss Ambassadors have said that they are not here to lecture the President but to offer assistance.
Ambassadors of Republic of Korea (Jeong Woonjin), Germany (Holger Lothar Seubert), Holy See (Monsignor Brian Udaigwe) and Switzerland (Dominik Furgler) presented their credentials to the President at the President’s House this morning.
According to the PMD, both German Ambassador Lothar Seubert and Swiss Ambassador Furgler have said, “We are not here to lecture you but to offer any possible assistance. We are certain that Sri Lanka is capable of choosing what needs to be done. We are ready to extend our cooperation to achieve development aspirations of Sri Lanka.”
Expressing their views, the Ambassadors have commended both President and the people of Sri Lanka for successfully controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.
German Ambassador Lothar Seubert also said that he is pleased to be appointed as an envoy to Sri Lanka that has overcome the COVID-19 pandemic while Ambassador of Korea Jeong said, “Sri Lanka is very safe.”
Conveying Pope Francis's felicitations to the President for the massive mandate received during elections, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See Monsignor Brian Udaigwe said he was a member of the entourage of the Holy Father during his visit to Sri Lanka in 2015. The Apostolic Nuncio said the geographical location is a gift and a blessing to Sri Lanka.(Lahiru Pothmulla)

They are the real ambassadors mindful of the mandate reinforced by Vienna convention and other diplomatic instruments.Why not other big fellows follow suit?

These EU Governments are the Co-Sponsors of resolution 30/1 and promoted terrorism in our Country. When RETRIBUTION is chasing them, they think of Sri Lanka. There is more following them. Already Democracy has got pushed into the darkness in the big Apple.
