"Some insist Ranil must remain" i had previous commented that when ranil said he "WANTED" to step down , that this was a crafty move, and that finally his "stalwarts" will ask him to remain, - seems correct now.

There is an unwritten ethical practice amongst leaders...when the time is right to step down, he or she must step down. A leader must have the courage to take that decision without being 'pampered' into it or otherwise by followers. There are enough and more examples of this age old but well respected practice. Mr. Ranil Wickremasinghe has not proven neither created an impression amongst his supporters that he has leadership attributes to lead a party, let alone a country in the south asian region. So please step down....... that way the country and the party both would benefit.
