Ten senior police officers including Senior Superintendent (SP) W.S. Nishshanka, the Director of the Judicial Security Division, had been transferred.
The police said SP Nissanka had been transferred to the Police Headquarters.
They said seven assistant superintendent of police (ASPs), a chief inspector (CI) and an inspector (IP) were among those who were transferred.
Accordingly, the transferred ASPs were: C.R. Kottahachchi was transferred to the Police HQ from the Negombo Division, T. Ludowyk from Colombo Fraud Division (CFD) to Nugegoda Division, H.D.K.S. Perera from Nugegoda Division to CFD, M.S.K. Wickramanayake from Polonnaruwa Division to Kurunegala Division, J.M.S.B. Jayasinghe from Kurunegala to Nuwara Eliya Division, P.T. Sisira from Elpitiya Division to Nugegoda Division and N.R.H.P.K. Gunasekara from Mullaithivu Division to the Victims of Crime and Witnesses Assistance and Protection Division.
Meanwhile, Chief Inspector E.M.I.B. Wijeratne has been appointed as the OIC of the Ankumbura Police Station from Teldeniya Division while IP P.B.K.P. Jayaratne who was the OIC of the Ankumbura Police Station was transferred to Kegalle Division.
Police said the National Police Commission had approved the transfers based on service requirement.
