Rs.50 million will be given to every government MP for rural development work from next Monday, informed sources said.
"This is being carried out based on a request made by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe," sources said.
In addition, the government has also decided to grant Samurdhi benefits to 600,000 on May 30, 2019.
The Prime Minister has also directed that the development projects such as Gam Peraliya and Enterprise Sri Lanka which came to a halt as a result of last year's October 26 constitutional coup and the Easter Sunday bombings be resumed. (Yohan Perera)

How much of this money WILL ACTUALLY GO towards rural development? Transparency required, with visible results please!

where is the accountability. every ministry should have a working updated website and information like this with a breakdown of the projects carried out and the cost should be made known to the public, ministries have enough staff to do that. Otherwise it just amounts to a bribe. That's our money the PM is spending.
