President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is correct in blaming the Central Bank officials, UNP Assistant Leader Ravi Karunanayake said today.
“I, during the last regime, said that it was the officials of Central Bank who were spoiling the country’s economy. Some criticised me vehemently when I said this at that time. I am happy that the President had found out the truth,” Mr. Karunanayake said.
“The President had asked the Central Bank officials to quit if they cannot help building the economy. This is exactly what should be done,” he added.
On the other hand, Samagi Jana Balawegaya candidate and former MP Hirunika Premachandra at a press conference was critical of President's criticism on Central Bank staff and said politicians always get away when there are shortcomings.
“It is easy for them to place the blame on public servants and escape,” she said. (Yohan Perera)

MR/GR expected the their man (A.N.Cabraal) to do the CBs job and officials refrained from any initiative. GR having found no replacement among his Army lot was forced to pull these Officials as the economic conditions as at the lowest ever!

Why can't politicians too go out as stated by President to the Central Bank officials at the meeting with him because the leaders of the main political parties who had ruled this country during the last three decades also too failed to rebuild the country. Saying goes that "DEVALE CAPUWA DEVALE RIWVATA KAMAK NEHE"

Hay Ravi, we respect our President and admit all what he said was correct, but what did you and your boss RW, doing those days keeping CB under your control and robbed, that's all. The entire nation knows about this, don't try to slip away man.
