Seven Police stations in the Mullaithivu Police Division have obtained restraint orders preventing the week-long Mullivaikkal commemoration from May 18.
The Police have obtained the restraint order against 32 suspects who were preparing to organize the commemoration near the Mullivaikkal beach or near the monument.
Accordingly, Mullaitivu, Mulliyawalai, Puthukkudiyiruppu, Mankulam, Oddusuddan and Mallavi Police stations have taken steps to obtain the restraint orders.
In addition, the police the security forces are also on high alert to arrest those who violate quarantine laws in the Mullivaikkal area and those who organise commemorations events of a proscribed terrorist organisation or terrorist group. (Romesh Madushanka)

Every year government makes it a point to destroy the statue. Every year they rebuild it. This shows that government has not won nor are they making an attempt to win the hearts and minds even after these years.
