A special 18-hour islandwide operation will be launched from 12.00 noon today to apprehend drunk drivers on all roads including expressway entry points.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the police headquarters has informed all the officers in charge of police station, officers in charge of territorial divisions and the directors of highway traffic patrol and Colombo City traffic division to conduct a special operation to arrest drunk drivers.
Accordingly, the police have been instructed to conduct random breathalyzer tests, especially at exit points of expressways.(DSB)
