Police launched an investigation to locate the driver of a car after a widespread video circulating on social media showing a group of men commuting in a car in a highly reckless manner on the Expressway.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the police have identified that the vehicle was registered under a name of a certain individual from Kandy.

However, investigation is underway to determine whether the vehicle does belong to the registered owner to another.

The video clearly shows that four persons on board the sedan, have lowered the shutters and seated on the doors facing each other from both sides of the vehicle. Their unruly behaviour was causing disturbance and distraction to the fellow motorists who were driving along on the expressway.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Police hunts for car driven recklessly on expressway what a joke when you can trace the car easily with the RMV registration plate. Buying time to find a reason free the culprits as usual.

Lest the Law enforcers do their job right without bending before politicians or other thugs, these types of brutish behaviour will be on the increase causing nuisance to other road users who respect the law and the Law enforcers(Police Force).
