Tourists visiting Sri Lanka from overseas will be able to travel under the ‘Bio Bubble’ system, according to health guidelines, Director General of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) Dhammika Wijesinghe said.
She said the Director General of Health and the IGP have been informed about this.
Hence, the tourists who are already here, can now travel among provinces adhering to stringent health guidelines and under Bio Bubble method, she said.
The Director General said that institutions and individuals who have taken steps to bring in tourists are strongly advised to follow the health guidelines when taking tourists around.
She said tough action will be taken against those who violate those guidelines.
“A system has been set up for foreign tourists visiting the island to travel to specific destinations without any hindrances under Bio Bubble,” she said.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Ordinary tourists stay 14 days and when should they visit sights. Sri Lanka then only visit rich people. The people who live off tourism suffer the most.

One country two laws. Tourists should not be allowed in while the lockdown is on.

Oh I See the point ..... . Corona-19 is only locally, regionally, community base pandemic situation ?

Come or go who cares about us. Tourists bring money to our country. Money is much more important than COVID-19 spread.

The rulers have gone nuts. These dollar crazy Rajapakses hardly care about the country and people. Foreigners can travel freely while the locals are held up.

Oh! my ... When will these people ever learn? Is it once the local population has vanished, leaving behind only tourists travelling around in "bio-bubbles" and the politicians who jumped the vaccine queue? (Is the country sufficiently corruption free and has good law and order to prevent breaking the law? Once the virus, or a new mutation of it, is out we cannot catch it with a butterfly net or shoot it with a gun like an escaped tiger.)

Why is everyone is grumpy. We have got enough vaccine stocks. You name it we have it. Astra Zenica, Sinopharm, Sputnik, and soon Pfizer, Johnson
