The Cabinet which took stock of the COVID-19 situation in the country decided that the country would not be locked down, but routine economic activities would be carried out according to health guidelines, a source said yesterday.
The Cabinet discussed the situation in detail and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa briefed the ministers in this regard.
It transpired during the meeting that the nature of the virus shape had changed this time and it was spreading faster than the last occasion.
It was discussed that the best solution was for people to live maintaining guidelines stipulated by the heath sector.(Kelum Bandara)
