The next two weeks in our country are going to be crucial where in a situation of more than 2,000 COVID-19 positive cases being recorded daily, the Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) said.

GMOA Assistant Secretary Dr. Naveen de Zoysa said we cannot wait until this current situation turns under control.

"We cannot wait and see until the situation gets under control within a day or two. If we do so the country will automatically be pushed into disaster," he said.

We don't know from where the next cluster would emerge. Therefore, the next two weeks are going to be highly crucial, he said.

"Only the health officials cannot control the situation. Even though the travel restrictions were imposed, several incidents were reported violating those restrictions," he said.

People should have their self-control over this, Dr. Zoysa added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

We all must need to understand that as per WHO corona will not disappear until 2025 means we have to live with same until then !!! So lock down, pruning activities is not a solution, we need to be disciplined with our own protection and move on normal and work hard but not to ask lock down and sleep at home.

Yes what he said was true, past few weeks were crucial by recording deaths and positive cases more than twenty and two thousands respectively. When they say sth we get vigilant and try to safe more than the information that was given by the goverment.

As a Australian citizen, I can take my Covid vaccine anytime now (eligible based on my age> 40 years), but I’m not going to take it because my mother live in Sri Lanka and she need it more than me. My mother cannot stand on queue’s and fight with other people to get her vaccine (she is old and got some health problems too). Since no help from Sri Lanka Government, I’m trying send my vaccine jabs to Sri Lanka for my mother, but I don't I’ll succeed or not, really sad!!!
