A large number of Police personnel have been stationed in different places to photograph drivers, who violate lane law, Senior DIG of the Western Province and Traffic Deshabandu Tennakoon said.
He said the photographs of the drivers who were violating the lane law would be shown to them when they were summoned for the awareness programme at weekends so that the drivers themselves could realize their mistakes and rectify them.
“We expect not to fine or take them to court but we are trying to educate them on lane-law and discipline them through self-understanding,” he said.

Very good initiative taken ! If they are summoned and do not appear for the awareness, then they should be fined !
