Don't just implement commodity levy on the imports. Provide necessary subsidies to increase the local production to ensure demands are met. Make sure the relief reaches the farmers without some middle men filling their bellies with it!

When import duties are levied on food, this means that something is wrong in this country. Whether the reason lies with the farmers or politicians remains an open question. In any case, the mischief of the middle men should be eliminated.
