A total of 331,694 students have applied for the Grade 5-Scholarship Examination this year, the Ministry of Education said.
The statement issued by the ministry last Thursday said out of the total applicants, 248,072 students would be facing the exam in Sinhala medium while 83,622 students were facing the exam in Tamil medium.
It said the exams were scheduled to be held on October 11.
The ministry said the exams would be held at 2,936 examination centres and all applicants would receive a ticket mentioning their index number and the respective examination centre prior to the day of the exam. (Thisari Walawege)

Earlier POHOTTUWA govt. announced that the scholarship exam of grade 5 would be abolished to ease the parents' extra pressure, so, we think, this is a HIGH TIME to do that. Let the children live
