The Government is continuing with the procedure of providing Rs.5,000 allowance for the people who are affected by isolation and Rs.10,000 for those who are under quarantine, Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said.
He told the Daily Mirror that the programme initiated during the previous pandemic and the same procedure will continue under the current situation as well for the people who unable to earn their living due to these reasons mentioned.
Accordingly, a discussion in this regard held among the ruling party leaders at the Temple Trees presided by the Prime Minister yesterday (11).
During the discussion, the relevant authorities were advised to continue with the process and to provide the Rs.5,000 as an allowance to those are affected by the pandemic and had lost their livelihoods and to provide a food pack worth Rs.10, 000 for those who are under quarantine, Minister Amaraweera said.
