The government has issued a gazette notification banning the re-exporting of pepper, areca-nut, tamarind, cinnamon, ginger and several other crops with immediate effect.
The Gazette has also banned re-exporting of garbage, processing of garbage or recourse recycling business.

This is to satisfy the pepper grows who complained the the export value of pepper has dropped. This was due to the drop in the world market. Let us see how the world pepper prices will rise with this ban.

Exports should be branded as superior quality Agricultureral products from Srilanka. Ceylon Tea Srilanka pepper Srilanka cinamon Products of high value less volume and not products of less value high volume Apply the 80 / 20 rule.
