A woman who had tried to jump off a railway bridge into the Kotmale reservoir yesterday had got stuck in the concrete structure of he bridge. The Talawakele Police had extricated her.
Police said her backbone was injured.
Preliminary investigations had revealed that she had tried to commit suicide after the break up of a 2-year old love affair.
The victim, a 21 year old trainee teacher, had been admitted to hospital.
Police are conducting further investigations. (Shantha Chandrasiri, Talawakele)

If only they let boys and girls play together when young, we would learn how to get along with the opposite sex. All these suicides .. so unnecessary!

Feel very very sad for the person concerned her agony at being crushed in between the concrete makes me so concerned to think of her plight and her loneliness ..Is there an organization to help people who are so depressed that they do not see that suicide is just the end of a precious life ..If not we need to establish such places for the depressed to reach out for help when they cannot turn to our own .families .or be made to feel guilty for what ever .May be some even do not have families close by . ..
