Fundamental Right petitions filed, by several social activists including popular actress Samanalee Fonseka seeking a court order to suspend the re-imposition of the liquor ban on women in 2018, were today fixed for argument on February 16 next year by the Supreme Court.
The petitioners also sought a declaration that neither former finance minister Mangala Samaraweera or the State are not entitled in Law to revoke the Excise Notification in a manner which prevents a female from being lawfully employed at a place where liquor is produced or sold.

What a shame to decide a fundamental right case which depends to more of half of the citizens of all Sri Lankans after 3 years.

Our law books are so full that it's all outdated now. we are very famous in making laws which is unrealistic and non practical. The public are so confused that they obey nothing. This is even seen now during instructions given on the Virus. So complicated the the public does not adhere to non.
