A total of 478 out of the 969 Covid-19 infected cases reported in the country yesterday were from the Western Province while 251 cases were reported from the Kurunegala District, according to the National Operation Center for Prevention of Covid-19.
A total of 194 covid-19 cases were reported from the Colombo District yesterday. Out of these 78 cases have been reported from Piliyandala, 20 from Pannipitiya, 14 from Mulleriyawa, 12 from Padukka and 11 from Mount Lavinia.
A total number of 236 cases were reported from the Gampaha district yesterday. Among them 41 cases were reported from Divulapitiya area, 35 in Mallawagedara, 27 in Attanagalla, 26 in Wattala, 20 in Ja-Ela and 17 in Minuwangoda.
Fourty-eight cases were also identified from the Kalutara District.
Among the cases reported in the Kurunegala District were, 69 from Kuliyapitiya, 39 from Pannala, 32 from Kurunegala, 33 from Nikadalupotha and 22 from Polpithigama. 14 cases have been reported from Ambanpola and 11 from Nikaweratiya.
In addition, 11 cases were reported from Kandy, 36 from Galle, 09 from Jaffna, 03 from Kegalle, 07 from Puttalam, 23 from Anuradhapura, 10 from Trincomalee, 10 from Moneragala, 28 from Hambantota, 03 from Polonnaruwa, 21 from Matale, 01 from Batticaloa and 01 from Batticaloa. 12 and 38 persons who arrived in the country from abroad were also reported as Covid-19 infected yesterday.(DSB)
