The Special Task Force (STF) personnel carried out a controlled explosion to open up the seat of a suspicious motorbike near the Savoy Cinema at Wellawatta this morning, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
The STF personnel had first inspected the bike and had decided to blow open the seat having failed to open it in the first place.
However, the spokesman said no explosives were found inside the bike.

Is it an offence to park bikes ? what is meant by "UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLES" ?(see earlier comment), How is it judged as suspicious ? will compensation be paid ? How does one make his vehicle to look not suspicious? , Please educate the public , if not, - lot of citizens are going to have their vehicles blasted up on "controlled explosions"
