As there were 2,859 COVID positive cases reported yesterday, the Colombo District recorded the highest with 608, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.
Gampaha stood next with the second-highest of 547, while Kalutara with 447 and Kandy with 108 cases.
Galle and Kegalle recorded 143 and 136 positive cases respectively, the NOCPCO said.
The NOCPCO said the people who are under home quarantine were included in yesterday's total cases.
They said no cases were reported from quarantine centres and foreign visitors.
However, ten cases have been reported among the locals who had returned from overseas, the NOCPCO added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
