All Pharmacies in the country, except for the districts that have been identified as high-risk and areas that have been completely sealed off due to quarantine measures, will be kept open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. a statement said.
The decision has been taken by the Special Presidential Task Force on Essential Services.
Issuing a statement the Prime Minister’s office said that in all districts that have been identified as being high-risk in which curfew is continuing (except for those areas that have been completely sealed off as quarantine areas), the previous method of distributing medication will continue where pharmacies will take orders over the phone and online, and the medication will be delivered to residences.

This is a welcome move. But, please let us know how we can get to the pharmacy during curfew hours. Will a valid prescription serve as a curfew pass? A few days ago the government gave a directive that only the state owned Osu Sala outlets would be allowed to remain open during curfew hours. However, they failed the people miserably. This was the only state institution that failed the people so badly at a time when their services were vitally needed. I thank all the other key institutions of the state and the private sector for rallying around the people at this time of need.
