Airport to be opened soon: Tourism Minister hints

Plans have been made to open the airport in accordance with the COVID guidelines enabling foreign tourists to enter the country following the approval of the health authorities, Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga said.

The Minister said a number of requests had been made with regard to the need to expedite the opening of the airport to tourists.

A special discussion was also held with the Health Minister and the health authorities on this regard yesterday.

Meanwhile, Chairperson of the SLTDA Kimarli Fernando stated that 80 tourist service locations had been identified to facilitate tourists visiting the country in accordance with the COVID health guidelines.

the big hotels getting a bit relief. The small ones still not allowed to take guests, means the suffering continues.

The covid-19 will be present for the next 4 months in Sri Lanka. The pandemic will be over for most of the world in few weeks. No tourist will be be visiting Sri Lanka for at least 4 months. The only solution is to lift the curfews and allow the infection to spread. That way herd immunity will be achieved sooner.

Going by the regulations unless the tourists are out of their mind they will visit SL spending for 14 days Quarantine plus compelling them to stay in only a select number of hotels . Good luck hope your pipe dreams become reality
